There are two options, one of which is currently unavailable:
1) Applications (currently closed). More information: https://sf-se.net/forum/threads/applications-closed-read-this-thread-before-posting.248/
2) A PayPal donation of $30 one-time (moderator status) or $50 one-time (administrator status). This is always available, and is currently the only option to get into the staff team given that applications are closed.
